The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, has paid tribute to Ghanaian workers, describing their labour as the “foundation of national peace and prosperity”
While saluting the Labour force, he is pledging renewed commitment to justice, accountability, and the protection of workers’ rights.
In his May Day message issued today, Dr. Ayine said justice is not an abstract ideal but the product of daily, tireless work by those who serve the law and by every Ghanaian who keeps the country running.
“Justice is not merely a concept; it is the fruit of the tireless labour of those who serve the law,” the Attorney-General stated. “On this May Day, I salute the dedicated staff of the Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice, and all Ghanaian workers. Your labour sustains our democracy and secures our future.”
Dr. Ayine singled out state attorneys, prosecutors, administrators, clerks, and support staff at the Ministry, noting that their discipline and service “keep the wheels of justice turning” even under pressure. He extended the same recognition to workers across all sectors — from classrooms and hospitals to farms, markets, and factories.

“As your Attorney-General, I reaffirm my commitment to working to strengthen the rule of law, protect your rights, and promote accountability and justice for all,” he said.
The Attorney-General outlined three priorities for the year ahead: enforcing laws that safeguard fair labour practices, ensuring timely prosecution of workplace violations, and deepening access to justice for ordinary workers.
“May this Workers’ Day renew our shared resolve,” Dr. Ayine added. “The dignity of labour and the promise of justice must always stand together. Rest well today. You have earned it.”
