Ghana’s Black Princesses have advanced to the third round of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after completing a double victory over Tunisia.
The Princesses entered the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium with a 2-0 advantage from the first clash at the Tayeb Mhiri Stadium in Tunis and replicated the score line once again to seal a 4-0 aggregate win, keeping clean sheets in both fixtures.
Mercy Attobrah and Agnes Yeboah found the back of the net in Accra, keeping Ghana’s dream of securing a ninth consecutive U-20 Women’s World Cup appearance firmly on track.
Head coach Charles Sampson expressed delight with the team’s performance but insists there is still room for improvement.
“It is my responsibility to build a better team. The target is to qualify for the World Cup and perform even better, and I’m really proud of how the girls are playing, though there are still areas to work on,” he said.
Looking ahead to their next test, Sampson confirmed that preparations are already underway.
“We have an idea about South Africa, our next opponent, and we will do our best to get a positive result.”
With the win, Ghana will now face South Africa in the third round as its quest for World Cup qualification continues.
