The Member of Parliament for Kumawu Constituency, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has strongly condemned a physical altercation between two male teachers at a school in Pepease, reportedly triggered by a disagreement over a female colleague.
In a statement, the MP described the incident as “highly unacceptable, unprofessional, and a disgrace to the teaching profession,” emphasizing that educators are expected to uphold discipline, maturity, and moral integrity at all times.
“As a Member of Parliament, I hold our educators in the highest regard. That two teachers allowed a personal disagreement to degenerate into violence on school premises is deeply disappointing and reflects a gross lack of self-control,” he said.
Hon. Anim expressed concern about the wider implications of the incident, noting that such conduct erodes respect for teachers and sends the wrong message to students. He warned that the integrity of the teaching profession must not be compromised by personal misconduct.
He has called on the Ghana Education Service (GES) to launch a prompt investigation and apply appropriate sanctions where necessary. He stressed that swift and firm action is crucial to preserving discipline and the sanctity of the school environment.

The MP also urged school authorities to offer psychological support to any students affected by the incident, to safeguard their emotional well-being.
“We must work together to uphold professionalism and order within our schools. Our educators must be shining examples—individuals our children can look up to, not fear or question,” Hon. Anim concluded.
