Kwabena Boateng appointed IEEE Computer Society’s Vice President for Member & Geographic Activities

Kwabena Boateng, a US-based Ghanaian Tech Industry leader has been appointed as Vice President of Member and Geographic Activities for the IEEE Computer Society. The IEEE Computer Society empowers computer science and engineering professionals for continuous advancement. 

Kwabena Boateng is the Founder and CEO of Quantized Fulfillment Technologies, an expert consulting company that specializes in robotic and AI safety and trust, design of Ultra Low Latency computing infrastructure to support sensitive applications such as cloud gaming and Metaverse use cases, software engineering and sustainability consulting. He is also Founder/President of the African Diaspora Nation (ADN), a transformative metaverse platform that empowers the African diaspora to drive global change by investing in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education and leadership development. 

Mr. Boateng describes his appointment as a ‘‘strategic move which would foster membership Growth and retention, enable global expansion and localization, engagement and community building, professional and educational development, diversity and inclusion and youth and early career engagement’’. 

‘My role would support and expand the IEEE’s global network of chapters, ensuring that they have the resources and guidance to grow and serve their local communities effectively,’ he stated. 

In enabling cultural and regional customization, he added that his role as the Vice President, would go a long way to develop programs and initiatives that are culturally relevant and tailored to the specific needs and challenges of different regions, and enhance the IEEE’s global appeal and inclusivity.  

Kwabena Boateng founded and launched the ADN Robotics and AI Innovation Hub located in Tema, Ghana. The hub has been set up as a leading player in supporting the Ghanaian Tech Ecosystem through robotics and artificial intelligence.  

On the establishment of ADN Robotics & Ai Innovation Hub in Ghana, he indicated that ‘‘Ghana is home and has contributed to his success globally. Giving back in the best way he knows is through, STEAM and Leadership development,’. 

He is the former Head of System Safety at Amazon Robotics, Greater Boston, USA and was nominated to the Black Leadership Program at Amazon and completed successfully. He also served as the Academic Excellence Chair, National Society of Black Engineers and was an IEEE / IEEE Computer Society Volunteer. 

As the President of the African Diaspora Nation, he has chaired initiatives that facilitated faculty exchange, student exchange and research partnerships between African educational institutions and Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs). 

He has contributed immensely to building global partnerships across the U.S State Department, African Union, Government of Ghana, and Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA) in support of the Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) Africa Homecoming Initiative. He is also the founding convenor of the annual Global AI Safety Compliance and Workflow Innovation Summit – a convening platform to share knowledge and best practices around AI safety, trust and privacy.
