The Member of Parliament for Obuasi West Kwaku Kwarteng has made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to throw their support behind Kennedy Agyapong in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming flagbearer race.
Speaking on the theme “Fixing Ghana: The Role of the NPP,” the MP, who is also a key member of Agyapong’s campaign team, argued that the country needs a leader who delivers results rather than one who merely projects a polished image.
“Ghana needs Kennedy Agyapong more than he needs Ghana. We are tired of politicians in designer suits who speak impeccable English but fail to lead effectively,” he declared.
Kwarteng warned that Ghana’s future was at a critical crossroads, insisting that only bold, pragmatic, and results-driven leadership could restore the nation’s progress.
“Ghana is approaching a critical point where politicians risk becoming an endangered species unless we change our behaviour and attitude towards leadership,” he cautioned.

Acknowledging that Agyapong is not without faults, Kwarteng said his straightforward and action-oriented style makes him the right leader for Ghana’s current circumstances.
“I have never claimed Kennedy Agyapong is perfect. He has his weaknesses, but every nation, depending on its situation, deserves a particular kind of leadership, and today, Ghana needs someone like him,” he stated.
The Obuasi West MP further called on party stakeholders to ensure a transparent and credible flagbearer election slated for January 31, 2026.
He warned that Team Ken would not tolerate any attempts to manipulate the process.
“Any effort to undermine the integrity of the election will be met with appropriate action from Team Ken,” he affirmed.
