President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to ensure that the recommendations of the ongoing Constitutional Review Committee are implemented to strengthen Ghana’s democracy and governance structures.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Post-Election Evaluation Dialogue organised by the National Peace Council in Koforidua on Friday, July 4, President Mahama described the event as timely and urged that its outcomes be submitted to the appropriate institutions, including the Constitutional Review Committee.
“It is my hope that your recommendations will be formally submitted to the appropriate institutions, including the ongoing Constitutional Review Committee, for study and implementation,” he stated.
Reiterating his government’s commitment to democratic reform, President Mahama assured participants that the outcomes of the national dialogue would be taken seriously.
“Let me stand and assure you that I will do everything in my strength and my power to ensure that the recommendations of the National Constitutional Review Committee are implemented,” he declared.

The President noted that Ghana’s democratic growth must be driven not only by regular elections, but also by deliberate reforms that reflect the aspirations of the people.
“Ghana must continuously improve its democratic architecture, not just through elections, but through deliberate reforms,” he emphasised.
He lauded the work of the National Peace Council, political actors, and civil society organisations in promoting national unity and social cohesion, and urged all Ghanaians to rise above partisanship and commit to national service.
