The leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has begun arriving at the party’s Headquarter for two important meetings to finalize the decision of the flagbearer or who his running mate will be for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The National Executive Committee and National Council meetings barring any last-minute hitches are expected to affirm the choice of Energy Minister Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh as running mate of the Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Scores of party supporters adorned in party T-shirts are outside the meeting room drumming and dancing to songs celebrating the choice of running mate.
The naming of the Manyhia South MP is expected to push up the votes of the governing party in the Ashanti Region which is considered a stronghold of the NPP.
