Black Stars coach Otto Addo says his main priority is helping Ghana secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, not achieving personal milestones, as his team prepares to face Comoros in their final qualifier.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s decisive clash, Addo emphasized that teamwork and execution remain the foundation of Ghana’s campaign.
“I’m not thinking about records. It’s always about teamwork. My full focus is on winning that’s all that matters”.
“The players performed very well in the last match, and we’re hoping to execute our plan against Comoros perfectly. We’ll do everything to secure qualification on Sunday,” he said at the pre-match press conference.
Addo, who guided Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after a dramatic playoff against Nigeria, is now on the verge of repeating that feat.
The Black Stars approach the game in high spirits after their emphatic 5–0 victory over the Central African Republic in Morocco, a result that pushed them to the top of Group I with 22 points — three more than second-placed Madagascar.
The all-important match will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
