The People’s National Convention (PNC) has written to the Inspector General of Police to probe some party executives over attempts to fraudulently secure UK visas for some unknown persons.
In September 2019, the British High Commission in Ghana wrote to the National Chairman of the PNC to confirm a certain letter from the party requesting visas for some party officials who had allegedly been tasked by the party to go abroad to engage the overseas branches of the party in relation to the possible implementation of ROPAL.
Moreover, all the persons whose names were presented to the British High Commission with the exception of the National Treasurer, Mr Adams Akane for the visas were unknown to the party.
In response, the National Chairman of the party Bernard Mornah denied knowledge of the said letter. The acting General Secretary of the party Mr Jacob Amoako who allegedly signed the letter also denied knowledge of the letter.
The party subsequently wrote to the Inspector General of the Ghana Police Service to investigate the matter and bring the culprits to book.

INVITATION TO INVESTIGATE FRAUDULENT VISA APPLICATIONS
I bring you comradely greetings from the leadership of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and to wish you a very successful tenure of office as Inspector-General of the Ghana Police Service.
Sir, am writing on behalf of the PNC to humbly request you to commission investigations into fraudulent Visa application at the Consular Office of the British High Commission here in Accra.
This has been necessitated by a letter supposedly written and signed by the Acting General Secretary of the PNC who has since denied knowledge of the said letter. As such, we deem it appropriate to fall on you to invoke your investigative powers to help unravel the circumstances under which the party’s name is being used to procure visas for people who are not known to the party.
The PNC believes that unravelling the person or persons behind this act of blatant misrepresentation would further help the PNC to reinforce its longstanding cordial relationship with the British High Commission in good governance and democratic consolidation.
Attached is the supposed letter to the British High Commission. Have my highest regards as I stand by to hear from you as the party is poised to offer and volunteer information to help the course of investigations. Thanks immensely.
