Ghana Police Service has dismissed allegations of examination paper leakage and bribery in a recent police promotion examination, describing the claims as false and baseless.
In a statement dated Sunday 10, 2026, and signed by the Director-General of Public Affairs, DCOP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Service said it had taken notice of a publication by The Herald newspaper alleging irregularities in the conduct of the promotion exams.
“The Ghana Police Service has sighted a publication by The Herald newspaper making false allegations of paper leakage and bribery in a recent Police Promotion examination,” the statement said.
The Police administration strongly denied the allegations, insisting that the examination process was credible and professionally handled.
“The Service wishes to categorically state that these allegations are baseless and without merit,” the statement stressed.
According to the Police Service, the promotion examination was conducted by the University of Cape Coast, an institution it described as reputable and experienced in administering such assessments.
“The promotion examination was conducted by the University of Cape-Coast which has a high reputation with proven track record and integrity in administering such examination,” the release noted.
The Service further expressed displeasure over the allegations and urged the public to ignore the claims.
