Premium Motors – sole distributors of Renault in Ghana – has put together a strategic plan to penetrate the top three automobile firms in Ghana by 2022.

The company in the past few years has entered into strategic partnership with firms like Mercedes Benz, Nissan and Mitsubishi.

Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi recently unveiled plans to work together on electric and self-driving cars.

Currently the consolidation has made the company number two globally.

But in Ghana, Premium Motors is ranked seventh.

Speaking to Starr Business on the sidelines of a press launch of the company’s ultra-modern showroom dubbed Renault Store, the Marketing Manager for Renault, Shirry Borketey Manison said, “Over the years we have realized – with our partnership with other automobile companies – that it not just about serving the value market, but we are looking at cutting across to serve the high level as well. We are looking at offering vehicles for various classes of people; across profession, age brackets and income level.”

The CEO of Premium Motors Jihad Hijazi also said, “For Ghana we do have a very ambitious plan to become part of the top three. Currently we are number seven in Ghana but in the next five years we want to move to three.”

He added that, “…Obviously this very ambition for a company that most people view as a mediocre type of brands, however, as we delve more and more into the brands, we will realize the might and the potential of this brands.”

“Few years ago, most of us; including myself thought; Ok the Duster and the Logan, what exactly can this company do but it has unleased its potential in the last couple of years due to the amalgamation and consolidation with power houses such as Nissan and Mercedes Benz. So it has solution essentially for most people who want to buy vehicles in Ghana, from the highly affordable all the way to the premium,” Mr. Hijazi stressed.

The new Renault Store is located at Atico Junction in Accra.

The Hi-Tech Renault Store is the furnished with state of the art equipment meant to give vehicle lovers an experience before they make the decision to buy.

Premium Motors also launched two vehicles, Kaleos and Kadjar.

The Renault Koleos SUV has a unique styling, specifications and trim ensure there’s plenty to choose between the Nissan and Renault, and a large interior and 565-litre boot.

The Renault Kadjar, asserts itself with authority and distinction, proud of its innovative lighting signature. It makes your motoring easier, more relaxed, safer and more fluid. Engines powering the Renault KADJAR are advanced, reliable and low on consumption.
