Shakers Group Limited, owners of Eba Phones and Motors, has donated relief items to families affected by the recent floods in Accra, with residents of the Alajo community among the beneficiaries.
The donation forms part of the company’s efforts to ease the burden on affected families while encouraging other corporate organizations to support ongoing recovery efforts.
The relief package included bags of rice, cartons of Indomie noodles, boxes of cooking oil, sardines and tomato paste, 50 packs of soft drinks, 40 packs of bottled water, and 200 EBA-branded T-shirts.
Speaking during the presentation, Shops Manager of Shakers Group, Albright Nani, said the company believes businesses have a responsibility to support communities beyond making profits, especially during times of crisis.
“We believe giving back to society is part of our corporate responsibility. In difficult moments like these, it is important for businesses to stand with affected communities and help ease their burden,” he said.
The Assembly Member for the community, who received the items on behalf of residents, expressed appreciation to Shakers Group for the timely intervention. He described the donation as a significant relief for families who lost property and livelihoods in the floods and appealed to other corporate institutions to support the recovery process.
Some beneficiaries also expressed gratitude for the gesture, saying the items would provide much-needed relief as they work to rebuild their lives. They further appealed to financial institutions, businesses, and philanthropists to extend similar support to flood victims across the country.
Shakers Group Limited reaffirmed its commitment to supporting communities in times of need and urged individuals, organizations, and corporate bodies to join efforts to assist families affected by the recent flooding.
