About 100 students from various schools in Ghana will be given the opportunity to interact with their colleagues from all over the world at this year’s Summer Camps.

According to the organizers, the trip which takes participants to three different European Countries namely; the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium will give the students the needed exposure and learning opportunities.

This year’s delegation from Ghana is made up of fifty-one participants from the following countries.

1. Ghana

2. United States

3. United Kingdom

Speaking at the Pre-departure briefing the Managing Director for Edibeck Consult, Edward Obiri Ampong stated that 24 schools are participating and emphasized the importance of such an initiative.

“More often than not, children, especially in our part of the world have limited opportunities to explore and have new experiences that would give them the opportunity to view issues from different perspectives and be more tolerant.”

“It is part of promoting international trade between Ghana and other countries across the globe. We think that using summer camp and having partnerships with companies are brought to help these kids move from Ghana from their comfort zone and see what is happening in the world. You can all bear with me that in this 21st century, it’s a competitive world. We have trending issues like the use of AI, robotics, STEM, and all that. We think that our children should move out, go, and learn these trending issues that we think can benefit them much.”

“Summer camps give young people the opportunity to learn outside the walls of the classroom. These experiences have the tendency to positively shape the mindset of an individual especially children since they are in their formative years.” He added

Mr. Ampong further urged students to be ambassadors of change and take advantage of such trips to enhance their employability after school

“In a world where unemployment is on the ascendency, we cannot totally rely on formal education. Combining extracurricular activities, which is an out-of-classroom learning experience with formal education gives young people a holistic appreciation of life. These lessons, outside the confines of a classroom build in

our young one’s confidence, resilience, tolerance, and teamwork inter alia which are very necessary for an individual to thrive in every facet of life.

“The world is moving at a very fast pace and trust me, we need young people who can think critically and find very creative and innovative ways of solving real-life problems. This can happen when we guide and engage them in a fun way to discover themselves so they can reach their infinite potential.”
