Yakubu Alabani, 31, is in the grips of the Takoradi Central Police in the Western region for posing as a military officer.
Yakubu was arrested and handed over to the police by WO11 Koffie of the Defence Intelligence and Sgt. Gyan of the Military Police.
They reported that the suspect, collected an amount of GHc300 and Ghc4,300 cedis from his victims Stephen Osei Jones and Benjamin Kumah under the pretext of enlisting them into the Ghana Armed Forces.
The soldiers conducted a search in the suspect’s Hotel room at Evergreen Line at Ahenkofi in Takoradi and found two military boots, camouflage trousers and a military T-Shirt, a military bag, shocker, handcuffs, pepper spray and a fake military ID card.
The suspect has since been detained for further investigation.
