Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership and dedication to Ghana, expressing unwavering support for the country’s new government.

During Mahama’s inauguration on January 7, 2025, Tinubu commended the Ghanaian leader’s patriotic vision and commitment to his nation’s progress.

Tinubu, who shares a deep personal friendship with Mahama, reassured Ghanaians that Nigeria stands with them.

He emphasised the importance of collaboration between the two nations, highlighting the potential for mutual growth and prosperity.

Tinubu expressed confidence that Mahama’s administration will strengthen the bond between Nigeria and Ghana, leading to greater progress and shared prosperity.

The Nigerian leader also acknowledged the common challenges facing both countries, including poverty, youth unemployment, and instability.

He stressed the need for cooperation to address these issues, concluding his speech with a message of hope for Ghana’s continued democratic growth.

“Your new president is a man of patriotic visions and success. He loves his nation and people to the core, and believes that your nation has a mission and intent for all of you to fulfill. No one can ask more of a leader than that”, he said.

“President Mahama and I share a deep friendship. My dear brother, I am here to walk with you. You can count on Nigeria’s support at any given time. We are your brothers and sisters. We shall be there for you,” he said.

“May your administration be a profound success and progress for you, Ghanaians, and the entire nation. I am confident that the new government under President John Mahama will walk with Nigeria to strengthen this powerful bond, leading to greater shared progress and prosperity for the people of our two nations”, he emphasized.

“With greater purpose, we can tackle our people’s most pressing problems and move toward progress. May Ghana’s democracy continue to grow stronger,” Tinubu concluded.
