Authorities at the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital in Cape Coast are appealing for help to address some critical challenges impeding mental health delivery at the hospital.
The hospital, according to the deputy administrator of the hospital, Mr. Godwin Pongo lacks the basic logistics including food needed for the smooth running of the hospital.
The appeal follows a similar one last week by their compatriots at the Ankaful Leprosy Hospital which also complained about shortage of some critical materials which impede health delivery at the facility.
Speaking to Starr News on the during a donation by a German Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Mussiochor in Cape Coast, Mr. Pongo indicated that the situation at the hospital is dire necessitating a quick intervention to keep the facility working thereby being in a solid position to contribute in addressing the mental health situation in the country.
He therefore appealed to government, individuals, corporate bodies and philanthropists to come to the aid of the hospital before the situation gets out of hand.
