Mother of the murdered military officer was inconsolable at the one-week observation held by the family of the late captain in Accra.
It was a day of sorrow for the mother of the deceased who returned from US after the death of her son.
She wept uncontrollably as former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Michael Samson-Oje consoled her. The programme was held with former President John Mahama in attendance.
Captain Maxwell Mahama was lynched to death by the locals of Diaso in the Upper West Denkyira district of the Central region after a snail seller raised a false alarm that he was an armed robber. He was overpowered by the marauding crowd led by an assemblyman William Baah.
The Police have arrested 42 suspects in connection with the murder of the Military Officer.
The late Captain will be buried on Friday, June 9.
