Legacy Girls’ College holds Speech and Prize-giving day

Legacy Girls College, Ghana’s only private all-girls boarding school, held its first speech and prize giving day on the 27th of May 2017 on the schools premises at Akuse.

The Guest speaker, Mrs. Betty Djokoto, Headmistress of Wesley Girls Senior High School, in her address highlighted the importance of having a global mindset towards leadership. She encouraged the students to work diligently toward s overcoming all challenges that they may face in life.

Other dignitaries in attendance were; Mrs. Jemima Oware, AG-Registrar General; Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan, Chief Executive of L’AINE service Ltd and Co-founder of legacy Girls college; Mrs. Essie Anno Sackey, chief of PHI Century and co-founder of Legacy Girl’s college; Mrs. Gloria Arthur the Managing Director of Morning glory Montessori; Mr. Titi Ofei, Principle of SOS Hermann Gmeiner and Board Chairman of Legacy Girls college, and Prof. Akosua A. Ampofo Director of institute of Africa Studies.

Mrs. Nancy Duah, the Executive Director of Legacy Girls College, awarded prizes to some students for their sterling performance in various subjects.

Additionally, she recognized the pioneering batch, and Mr. Abdul Kadri Attoh, the first teacher of Legacy Girls College, for being trail blazers.

In her speech, the senior prefect, Jessica Tetteh highlighted how proud she was to be a student of Legacy Girls College, and informed the audience how her life as well as the lives of other students have been transformed tremendously over the past two years. She explained how the schools core values; I-READ; Integrity, Responsibility, Excellence, Ambition, and Dedication have molded the thought patterns of students and made them better version of themselves over a short period of time.

Speaking to Mrs. Essie Anno Sackey, the Co-founder of Legacy Girl’s College, she said students from Legacy are given all the opportunities they need to develop into competent, caring and confident leaders, who will not only change the face of leadership in Ghana but also, the world.

Legacy Girls College offers both the WASSCE and the IGCSE curriculum to students and can boast of modern learning and living facilities. Their enhanced curriculum maximizes each student’s potential through research-informed teaching methods, innovative curriculum design and delivery, interactive sessions with accomplished professionals for personal and industry experiences, amongst many others.
