A  four-member robbery gang terrorizing residents of New Juaben in the Eastern Region on Sunday dawn stormed Bornya, a suburb in the municipality to rob three homes.

The masked robbers wielding guns and other burglary tools invaded the community to rob their victims amidst sporadic gunshots. The Armed robbers succeeded in robbing Mr.Kofi Aning-a staff of Ghana Education Service and his pregnant wife in a traumatic rambo style.

The robbers at gun and knife point took away a Laptop, Phones, Tablets, Flat screen TV set , $100 and GCH1,500 having chiseled and breaking into the security doors and shooting at the CCT camera. The suspects after the act also attacked two neighboring houses but absconded into the bush upon the arrival of the Police.

Bornya and its surrounding communities such as Trom, Acheampong, and Two Streams with total population of about 10,000 do not have police post creating convenient environment for armed robbery to pester. Some terrified residents of the community say a police post is needed to curb the menace.

Reverend Minister in Charge of Bornya King of Glory Congregation who happens to be a Police officer, Rev Inspector Godwin Kumatror, was met providing security tips for his congregants some of whom are victims of the rampant robbery in the area. He told Starr News the spate of robbery in the area is quite alarming hence appealed for the establishment of a Police post.

The robbery gang last Thursday dawn wielding pump action guns, hammer, pinch bar, cutlass attacked at least six houses within an hour and half in parts of New Juaben. The armed robbers attacked three houses around Koforidua Technical Institute(KOTECH) area, stole monies, mobile phones, laptops, and other valuables amidst beating of some of their victims.

The armed robbers suspected to be the same gang, moved to Adweso-SDA School area to rob the  Second Minister of the Trinity Presby Church at the same night.

Meanwhile, same Day at about 3:20am , a 41-year-old man Elvis Kotey living at Democracy Area also reported  to the Effiduase District Police Command that about 1:20am,  he was at home with his family when a group of young men  numbering about four all wearing face mask wielding pump action gun, hammer and cutlass forcefully broke into his bedroom and made away with two 32inches hi-thermal cool plasma TV, One Dell laptop, sound system, one galaxy A5 phone, one Samsung 7edge and cash the sum of 100 dollars.

The robbers reportedly park their Car in a very far distance from their target areas and walk on foot to rob. The Police seems not to be making headway in gathering intelligence that could lead to the arrest of the robbery gang.
