Award-winning investigative organisation Tiger Eye P.I has launched an app to help in the fight against corruption.
The Tiger Eye PI app is currently available on Google Play Store for Android users.
The App, which is powered by Klarity – an entity which empowers citizens, activists and journalist networks to act on corruption in their everyday lives – helps record corruption “wherever, whenever it happens.”
It comes with safety features which make recording exciting and harmless at the same time.
During recording the screen of the phone turns into a functioning browser while recording takes place in the background. Also, an SMS with your geolocation is sent to your friends with a “Do not disturb” option to make sure your phone doesn’t ring.
“Only you can stop the recording by typing your secret password,” Klarity said about the App on its website.
The CEO of Tiger Eye PI, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, believes the App will go a long way in empowering citizens to join in the Je Suis Anas (I Am Anas) campaign.
“This is an innovative way of making everyone Anas to fight corruption in society. It takes just a phone to enter anywhere and shine the spotlight on corruption,” the award-winning journalist said.
