The Electoral Commission (EC) has clarified that neither the Chairperson nor her husband has links to Persol Systems Limited, as purported in recent media reports.
Reports in section of the media have suggested that Persol Systems Limited, the company the EC has awarded the contract to build data for the Commission, belongs to the husband of the Chairperson.
In a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs of the EC, Mrs Sylvia Annoh, the Commission referred to such publication as an outrageous lie.
“This is an outrageous lie since the said company [Persol Systems Limited] has no links whatsoever to the Chairperson and her husband,” the statement said.
The Commission calls on the general public to disregard the publication as it is an attempt to malign the integrity and credibility of the chairperson.
Further, the Commission advised the general public to always verify information in the media, particularly social media.
