Deputy Ashanti regional director of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Frank Kwadwo Duodu has filed his nomination forms to contest the Subin primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The forms were received by the Subin constituency secretary Akuamoah Boateng who doubles as the secretary to the elections committee of the party in the constituency.
At least five people including the incumbent Member of Parliament Eugine Boakye Antwi have picked forms for the contest.
Mr Akuamoah after receiving the nomination forms of the aspirant advised him and his supporters to abide by the party’s rules for the primaries.
“You know the party’s rules for this parliament primaries is clear, aspirants are not supposed to campaign by meeting delegates in groups. However, you can campaign by meeting delegates one by one. Note that any negative campaign you do against your opponent can affect the party going into elections 2020 because it can cause division in the party which the party won’t entertain so please observe the rules,’’ he stressed.
Frank Kwadwo Duodu on his part, pledged to conduct issues-based campaign in line with the rules governing the primaries.
“Mr. Secretary, I will like to assure you that, if there will be any problem in the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the Subin constituency let me assure you that, it won’t come from my camp, I can assure you’’ he pledged.
Addressing the media, after successfully filing his nomination, he said he is excited that he has finally managed to file his forms.
“ I know I went through a lot before I managed to pick my forms from the constituency executives but the filing so far was trouble-free. People made their views known championing a course for the incumbent to contest unopposed which was contrary to the party’s constitution. I’m in the contest in response to calls of delegates and grassroot members of the party who are not happy with the performance of the incumbent Member of Parliament’’ he disclosed.
