Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa on behalf of the team has promised to reward Nigerian fans with a win against Ghana despite their unfortunate exit in the just ended AFCON in Cameroon earlier this year.
Nigeria will lock horns with Ghana in an intense World Cup qualifier on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium before playing the return leg in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, as they seek to make a 7th appearance at the world’s most coveted tournament in Qatar.
Despite the captivating form of Nigeria in over a year, expectations have dwindled a bit following how they were shown the exit by an unfamiliar Tunisian side at the 33rd edition of the AFCON in Cameroon.
However, the captain of the side says, the fans deserved more than the previous performance and that is what they intend to do against Ghana.
“The last time the tournament( AFCON 2021) was not good for all Nigerians. They are very sad but there is nothing we can do because this is football. So we just have to pay them with this. We need to qualify to Qatar.” He said in a press conference in Nigeria.
The Fatih Karagümrük attacker was part of the squad that succumbed to a one nil defeat to the Black Stars in the semi final of the 2010 AFCON in Angola and will be looking forward to lead his team for a revenge especially at a time where both players who combined for that goal, Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah are absent in the Ghana squad.
The Super Eagles are arrived in Kumasi today and will train at 7pm as they narrow their final preparations for the game.
