Former president of the United States of America, Barack Obama, has shared his favourite songs for 2022. The list includes top celebrated Nigerian musicians Arya Starr, Burna Boy, and Rema. Barack Obama has now made sharing his favourite music an annual tradition and many people always look forward to knowing the ex-president’s music taste.

Not only does he share his favourite music, he also shares his favourite books read and movies watched.

Burna Boy’s international anthem “Last Last,” a song that instantly became a worldwide hit in the summer did not miss the former president’s list. “Last Last” was released on 13 May 2022 as the first single from Burna Boy’s sixth studio album, Love, Damini. The song contains samples of American singer Toni Braxton’s 2000 single, “He Wasn’t Man Enough”. The song also made it to Barack Obama’s favourite summer playlist this year.

Ayra Starr was also added to the list for her riveting single “Rush,” a record whose eclectic lyrics and music video captivated many music lovers.

Rema who is Arya Starr’s label mate also got featured on the list for “Calm Down,” a record that garnered added international attention after he featured Selena Gomez on the remix.
