An 18-year- old apprentice identified as Georgina Agyeman has met her untimely death at Anwiankwanta at Bekwai Municipal in the Ashanti Region following a suspected brutal gang rape by the perpetrators.
According to sources, the deceased died in the process of being raped.
The lady was found with pants strangling her neck and her jeans trousers partly removed, with blood stains on her vagina and on the floor where she was forced to kneel in an uncompleted building at Abenkyim, a suburb of Anwiankwanta.
The deceased wasn’t able to return home after she closed from work on Friday evening. The family and members of the area embarked on a search and found her dead in an uncompleted building on Saturday evening at 4pm.
Tension has gripped the area following the incident, with the people alleging that it is unsafe for women in the community to go out after sunset.
The body has been sent to Bekwai Municipal Government hospital for autopsy. No arrest has been made yet.
