Ghana international Gideon Mensah sets sights to secure maximum points in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
The Black Stars will face the Palancas Negras of Angola in Luanda on November 15 before hosting Niger at Accra Sports Stadium on November 18, 2024.
The Black Stars faces a challenging AFCON qualification campaign, losing two and drawing two games in four matches.
The team currently ranks third in the standings, having managed only two points in the final round of games this month.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Gideon Mensah stated that the Black Stars are concentrating on securing six maximum points in their qualifier round.
“The journey is not going to be smooth because we’ve come to a junction where we have to hope and work for ourselves. We are going to watch the game and see what will happen but at the end of the day, the focus is to win six points” he said.
The Black Stars need wins against Angola and Niger, and Sudan’s failure against these opponents to maintain their chances for next year’s Morocco tournament.
The Black Stars commenced preparation for the upcoming games on Monday and are expected to continue on Tuesday afternoon before they depart for Luanda on Wednesday.
