Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Kwame Governs Agbodza, who doubles as the Chief Whip of the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Caucus, has honored teachers in the Adaklu District for their distinguished service to the district.
At an awards ceremony held at Adaklu Waya, the district capital, on Friday, the legislator presented various prizes, including deep freezers, tabletop refrigerators, television sets, and laptop computers, among others, to deserving awardees.
Award winners were drawn from various categories and levels, including kindergarten, lower and upper primary, as well as junior and senior high schools. Other non-teaching staff were equally honored.
In his speech, the MP expressed gratitude to teachers and other educational workers in the district for their sacrifices and contributions towards uplifting education in the area.
He noted that the district has achieved various successes in the area of education over the years due to the commitment and hard work of teachers, particularly those who accept postings to remote parts of the district.
He promised to continue dedicating significant effort and resources to improving educational infrastructure, outcomes, and attainment in the district.
The representative of the Paramount Chief of the area, Togbe Katani, who also serves as the Chief of Sofa, thanked the MP for instituting the teachers’ award scheme and for his continuous efforts in removing schools under trees in the district.
