The Government’s Transition Team has called for additional information on key issues from its Sub-Committees after holding its third meeting on December 27, 2024 in Accra.
While most Sub-Committees presented satisfactory progress reports, the Social Sector Sub-Committee failed to submit its report, and several others were asked to provide more details to address specific gaps.
The meeting, chaired by the team’s leadership, focused on reviewing the progress made so far and identifying areas that need further clarification.
The Co-Chairs directed all Sub-Committees to provide the requested details during the next meeting to ensure that all critical issues are resolved before the handover process concludes.
The reports presented by the various Sub-Committees highlighted significant achievements in the transition process but also identified challenges that require immediate attention.
Representatives from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) were commended for their active participation, as their inputs remain vital to the success of the ongoing transition.
In a statement signed by spokespersons Fatimatu Abubakar and Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Transition Team reiterated its commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and inclusive transition process.
They expressed gratitude to the Sub-Committees and the MDAs for their dedication and emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving a successful handover.
The team’s statement further noted that addressing the outstanding issues is critical to fostering continuity in governance and maintaining public confidence in the transition process. Stakeholders were urged to remain focused and committed to resolving all pending matters in the coming weeks.
As part of its roadmap, the Transition Team plans to intensify its engagements in subsequent meetings to finalize reports and ensure all critical concerns are addressed.
The team reaffirmed its dedication to a seamless transfer of power, which it views as a cornerstone of national development and stability.
