Samson Deen, President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana, has cautioned newly appointed NSA Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah against allowing political influence to affect his leadership.
During a courtesy visit to the NSA headquarters in Accra, Samson Deen cautioned that political biases could compromise critical decisions, stressing that such influence might obstruct the recognition of capable individuals whose expertise is essential to the NSA Director General’s success.
“People will come to you and try to define others who are from the other government. Don’t allow them,” Mr Deen said.
“You are here to serve the people of Ghana, to develop sports, and to be seen as the person who can transform the sector”.
“Those who came to me with political motives will come to you too. If you listen to them, you will miss the chance to work with the best.”
Deen further stated that Mr Ankrah is one of the youngest individuals to hold the position and pledged his support to help him succeed.
“Compared to your predecessors, you are the youngest. That comes with both a challenge and an opportunity. We are here to support you and help you succeed,” he added.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah was recently appointed as the Director General of the NSA, assuming responsibility for leading the agency tasked with advancing and promoting sports development across Ghana.
