The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition during a targeted operation at Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region.
The suspect, identified as Abdul Rauf Salami, a resident of Adoagyiri Zongo, was apprehended on Friday, May 23, 2025, around 9:30 p.m. The arrest was made during intensified police operations focused on securing all entry and exit points of Adoagyiri, following recent disturbances in the township.
According to a press release signed by ASP Foster Owusu of the Public Affairs Unit, the police retrieved two pump-action guns loaded with 64 rounds of AA ammunition, as well as a cutlass, a knife, and an ammunition vest from the suspect.

Mr. Salami is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned before court.

The police assured residents of their continued commitment to restoring and maintaining safety in the Adoagyiri township. They also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as investigations continue.
