A 25-year-old man, Kwabina Gyasi, has sustained multiple cutlass wounds after being allegedly attacked by a farmer, identified only as Mr. Cudjoe, at Benso in the Western Region.
Kwabina, who recently relocated to the community in search of livelihood opportunities, was reportedly caught defecating on Mr. Cudjoe’s cocoa farm.
Eyewitnesses say the farmer confronted him, and the altercation quickly escalated. In a fit of rage, Mr. Cudjoe allegedly pulled out a cutlass and inflicted several deep wounds on the young man.
With the help of some residents, the victim obtained a police report and was rushed to the Benso Government Hospital, where he received treatment and was later discharged.
Despite the severity of the assault, Mr. Cudjoe has not been arrested.
Sources indicate that the individual who brought Kwabina to Benso—referred to locally as his “master”—has declined to pursue the matter, reportedly due to a personal relationship with the alleged attacker.
