The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has petitioned the party’s National Disciplinary Committee to investigate and sanction the Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, over alleged misconduct and defamatory remarks.
In a statement issued on September 30, 2025, the NPP Secretariat said the petition highlights three major concerns about Abronye’s conduct, which it described as gravely detrimental to the image, unity, and integrity of the party.
According to the petition, Abronye allegedly made derogatory remarks against Ken Ohene Agyapong, a senior party member, claiming that even the elephant has more wisdom than Mr. Agyapong.
The General Secretary described the comments as defamatory and damaging to both the individual and the party.
The statement further accused Abronye of making false allegations that Mr. Kodua had deliberately concealed a report recommending the expulsion of Mr. Agyapong.
It also noted that Abronye had misrepresented findings of a disciplinary committee report, breaching confidentiality and undermining the authority of the committee.
The petition calls on the Disciplinary Committee to conduct a full and impartial inquiry into Abronye’s conduct and to apply the necessary sanctions as provided by the party’s constitution.
