Senior Pastor of Hill Chapel, Rev. Kwadwo Bempah, has urged the youth to restore the culture of respect toward elders, describing it as a timeless virtue linked to long life and divine blessings.
Re. Bempah’s comments come amid renewed public debates about the erosion of traditional respect and decorum in national discourse.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Thursday, October 16, 2025, Rev. Bempah expressed concern over what he described as a growing wave of public disrespect among the younger generation toward authority figures and national leaders.
“Young generation, the respect you give to the generation ahead of you is a determinant whether you can survive and even live up to their age. It’s very important,” Rev. Bempah said.
He cautioned that dishonor toward elders could attract dire spiritual and moral consequences. “I don’t support any generation that insults its elders, no matter what because it will bring a curse upon you,” Rev. Bempah warned.
The Hill Chapel pastor further encouraged young people to focus on setting positive examples instead of constantly criticizing those in leadership.
“If the leaders are not doing right, you do right to correct their wrong because talking alone does not do the right. And also, you don’t know why they went wrong,” he advised.
