A 49-year-old fisherman, Samuel Armah, also known as ‘Kofi Nyan’, has been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment with hard labour by the Circuit Court 2 in Cape Coast in the Central Region.
A police statement signed by ASP Patrick Bentum said Her Honour, Nana Aba Quiba Nunoo sentenced Kofi Nyan on October 28, 2025 after he pleaded guilty to the charge of defiling a 13-year-old girl at Mumford.
He has since been sent to Ankaful Prison to begin his sentence.
Kofi Nyan defiled a minor on October 16, 2025 at Mumford and recorded himself in the act after accusing the victim of stealing his GHC800.00. Investigation however revealed that the victim stole GHC60.00.

He reportedly admitted to the offence at DOVVSU after an examination at St. Luke Catholic Hospital confirmed that the victim has been defiled.
Four identified accomplices are however on the run causing the Police to appeal to residents of Mumford to appeal for information which may lead to their arrest.
