Government is set to construct emergency girls’ dormitories at the Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) and a 12-unit classroom block for Labone Senior High School following recent fire outbreaks that disrupted academic activities at the two institutions.
In a statement signed by Press Secretary to the Minister for Education, Hashmin Mohammed, the intervention is aimed at restoring safe and conducive learning environments for affected students in the Northern Region and Greater Accra, while ensuring continuity in teaching and learning.
“The Ministry of Education assures students, parents, staff, and the general public that all necessary measures are being taken to expedite the reconstruction process and prevent future occurrences through improved safety standards,” the statement said.
Government reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of learners and strengthening educational infrastructure across the country, particularly in times of emergency.
