The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced a review of its approach to delivering selected services to Ghanaians living abroad following public reactions to its earlier proposal.
In a statement on Thursday, February 26, 2026, the Authority said it had taken note of the feedback and concerns raised after it disclosed plans to extend some of its services beyond Ghana’s borders.
“The Management of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has taken note of the public reactions following the announcement of our intention to extend selected services to Ghanaians living abroad. We appreciate the feedback and the concerns expressed by members of the public,” the statement said.
The DVLA indicated that in light of the sentiments expressed, it is reassessing its initial strategy.
“In view of these sentiments, Management is reviewing the proposed approach and exploring alternative options to ensure that our services remain accessible to all Ghanaians, including those residing outside the country,” the Authority stated.
Management further assured the public of its commitment to improving service delivery while prioritizing the broader national interest.
“We assure the public that the Authority remains committed to the collective interest of the Ghanaian people and continues to work diligently to enhance our service delivery for everyone,” the statement added.
The DVLA encouraged members of the public to reach out through its official contact channels for further inquiries.
