The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into allegations that some police personnel at Kibi were involved in the unauthorised withdrawal of GH₵400,000 from the mobile money account of an agent.
In a statement, the Police said the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has directed the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to probe the claims, which surfaced in a viral video circulating on social media.
According to the statement, the alleged victim has already been contacted and is cooperating with investigators to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Police Service assured the public that the matter is being treated seriously and that the outcome of the investigation will be made public once the process is completed.
The statement added that the Service remains committed to accountability and professionalism within the ranks of the police.
