Ghana’s Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, and the Minority Leader of Parliament, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, are set to headline the 2nd Edition of the African Governance and Anti-Corruption Summit, scheduled for June 16, 2026, in Accra.

The summit, organized by The Bright Future Alliance (TBFA), a youth-led civil society organization focused on promoting good governance, anti-corruption, and sustainable development, will take place at the British Council under the theme: “Corporate Institutions and Public Agencies as Pillars of Accountability: Strengthening Governance Systems for Sustainable National Growth.”

According to the organizers, the event aims to provide a platform for policymakers, civil society organizations, corporate leaders, diplomats, and young people to discuss practical solutions for strengthening governance systems and promoting accountability across Africa.

Dr. Ayine, who will deliver the keynote address, is expected to outline key legal and institutional reforms needed to enhance transparency, accountability, and integrity within public agencies and corporate institutions. His participation underscores the government’s commitment to collaborating with civil society in the fight against corruption and economic crimes.

Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin will join a distinguished panel of speakers that includes the Vice Chairperson of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee and Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Hon. Davis Ansah Opoku; the Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor; Executive Secretary of the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition, Beauty Emefa Narteh; Executive Director of TBFA, Bright Ofori; and a representative from the Internal Audit Agency.

The summit comes at a time when concerns about corruption, public accountability, and economic governance remain central to Africa’s development agenda. Organizers say the gathering will serve as a strategic forum for evaluating current governance structures and identifying innovative approaches to combating corruption.

Participants can expect high-level keynote addresses, interactive panel discussions, and youth and civil society dialogues designed to foster engagement between decision-makers and citizens.

TBFA has extended an invitation to journalists, student leaders, civic organizations, corporate professionals, and members of the public to participate in what it describes as a defining conversation on governance, accountability, leadership, and sustainable development on the continent.

The African Governance and Anti-Corruption Summit has become an important platform for advancing dialogue and action on institutional accountability, transparency, and responsible leadership across Africa.
