The Ministry of Education has postponed the release of the 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results from Monday, 31 August 2026, to Friday, 4 September 2026.
In a statement issued on 30 August 2026 and signed by Press Secretary, Hashmin Mohammed, the Ministry said the decision followed requests from parents, guardians, students and Heads of Schools for additional time to complete the submission and uploading of students’ data onto the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and CSSPS platforms.
According to the release, the extension is intended to ensure that all qualified students have their information properly recorded for placement into Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
“The Ministry’s data shows that approximately 20,000 qualified students have not yet had their school choices uploaded to the CSSPS platform by their Heads of Schools, parents or guardians,” the release said.
Officials warned that without the extra time, these students risk being left out of the placement process.
Parents, guardians, students and Heads of Schools have therefore been strongly urged to use the additional days to submit and upload all outstanding information within the new deadline.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to a fair, transparent, efficient and orderly placement process that gives every qualified student a meaningful opportunity to secure placement in an SHS or TVET institution.
