The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has issued a stern warning to communities and individuals who attack security officers or installations, declaring a zero-tolerance stance toward such acts of lawlessness.
The Minister’s warning comes in the wake of a disturbing rise in assaults on uniformed personnel across the country, incidents that have left several officers critically injured.
Speaking during the commissioning of the National Signals Bureau’s Ultra-Modern Command Center in the Eastern Region on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak described the attacks as unacceptable and a direct threat to national security.
“We are not anymore going to tolerate communities that attack our security personnel and our security facilities,” he cautioned.
“We are no longer going to do that, we will let the force of the forces come to bear on any community that think that they will attack our men and women and good suffering. That will no longer be tolerated under this government.”
He revealed that several officers from various security agencies were currently battling for their lives after being attacked while performing their duties.
The Minister emphasized that the government remains committed to maintaining law and order and will not allow any group to undermine the safety and morale of the country’s security services.
He urged the public to respect security officers and work with them to uphold peace, assuring that offenders will be dealt with decisively.
