A 47-year-old taxi driver, Kwesi Tawiah, is on the run after he allegedly locked his disabled 22-year-old son, Kofi Panyin, to death at Ajumako Onwane in the Central Region.
Residents in the area disclosed that the father of the deceased had been complaining about his son’s act of stubbornness coupled with the habit of smoking cigarettes and marijuana in the community.
For his son to stop the supposed deviant behavior after several interventions, he allegedly engaged seven individuals who got hold of the deceased and locked him up in a room.
The residents, however, noticed a bad smell from the room and when the deceased father was confronted he pretended not to know anything.
The worried residents broke into the room only to see the deceased tied with a rope with cane marks on his motionless decomposing body.
Residents disclosed that Mr. Tawiah managed to take custody of the body of his son and secretly buried him without informing the Police.
Upon a search in the room, the residents found food, water and marijuana which they suspect was poisoned.
According to Residents, the suspect after committing the act with his hired men fled the community.
The residents are on a manhunt for the suspect and his seven accomplices.
The case is yet to be reported to the police.
