Drdogood, is pleased to announce a partnership with Yemaachi Biotech, an immunogenomics research company  working to reduce the economic burden of cancer in Africa. . This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our mission to enhance  access  and delivery of healthcare across the country.

According to the ICO/IARC Information Centre on HPV and Cancer report for 2023, 10.6 million women aged 15 years and older are at risk of developing cervical cancer. Current estimates indicate that every year 2797 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and 1699 die from the disease. Cervical cancer ranks as the 2nd most frequent cancer among women in Ghana and the 2nd most frequent cancer among women between 15 and 44 years of age.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable types of cancers, yet it is the 4th leading cause of cancer deaths in women worldwide. Over 99% of cervical cancer cases are due to persistent infection with certain strains of HPV (Human Papillomavirus).

With this partnership, Drdogood users can request an easy-to-use and painless HPV self-sampling kit on our mobile application at a fee and return their sample securely to Yemaachi for testing, eliminating the need to visit a hospital or clinic for this important screening test. This will promote preventive healthcare and early detection of cervical cancer, a pressing public health concern in Ghana. When detected early, cervical cancer is very easily treatable in a same-day out-patient procedure.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month and a perfect opportunity to join the world to raise awareness about cervical cancer prevention via screening and HPV vaccination here in Ghana. The Drdogood-Yemaachi partnership will include collaborative campaigns aimed at educating the public about the importance of regular cervical cancer screening and the role of early detection in improving health outcomes and preventing painful treatment or loss of lives.

Our online/offline channels, mobile apps, and community health screening popups, will aim to reach a wider audience, foster greater awareness of cervical cancer prevention and the importance of regular screenings.

This partnership exemplifies our dedication to forging strategic alliances that amplify the reach and impact of our healthcare solutions. We look forward to the positive outcomes that will stem from this collaboration and remain steadfast in our commitment to advancing healthcare accessibility and delivery in Ghana.
