The Municipal Chief Executive for Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region, Alhaji Umar Bodinga has called on the National Council and National Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party to immediately call aspiring flagbearer of the Party, Alan Kyeremateng to order over his recent utterances.

Mr. Kyerematen, immediate past Minister of Trade and Industry said during a visit to Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council that, the current ailing economy facing the country will make it difficult for the NPP to convince Ghanaians to retain the party in power in 2024

“Akufo-Addo has done well, when the NPP came, there was no free SHS, but we have brought it, planting for food and jobs, we have brought it, One District, One Factory, we have brought it, I can recount a number of the policies, but we all know that times are hard. We are all in difficulty, we have worked hard but due to the economic hardship, our key message for campaigning as a party for the 2024 election has become difficult for us.
“But you see, one of our main challenges as a country is how successive governments abandon policies they inherit from another government. This is what has derailed our development efforts. So I would wish that for the first time in the history of the country, allow the NPP to continue, so our policies can gain roots while we do away with the bad policies. If we mean well for the country this is what must happen,” Mr Kyerematen said in local language.

Bodinga who served four terms as Eastern Regional Vice Chairman and two-time Member of the National Council of the NPP reacting to the statement made by Hon Alan Kyeremateng described the pronouncement by Alan Kyeremanteng as unfortunate.

He said such reckless comment if not checked could cause the party in the forthcoming 2024 elections and therefore urged leadership of the party to call him to order to be mindful of his choice of words and campaign messages.

The MCE said President Akufo Addo led NPP government has introduced several pro-poor policy interventions that have rather mitigated the hardship on Ghanaians which should not be undermined by anyone for political aggrandizement.

He said Alan Kyeremanteng as a former Cabinet Minister should have known better to appreciate interventions made by President Akufo Addo.

“NPP brought Free SHS, We have also implemented the Planting For Food And Jobs, One District, One Factory, and many others so what is Hon Alan Kyeremateng saying.”He quizzed

Alhaji Bodinga also condemned the Eastern regional campaign manager for Alan Kyeremateng, Samuel Aye Paye ,a former member of Parliament for Ayensuano for festering religious division ahead of the NPP Presidential Primaries and inciting delegates to vote against Dr. Bawumia because Muslim are minority group hence cannot win a general election.

He said such comments must be called out and condemned by all Ghanaians who believe in religious harmony and cohesion.
