Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited has partnered with FirstBanC Financial Services (FirstBanC) to provide to its clients a digital platform to purchase or top up their investments.

Under the partnership, GTBank has deployed physical and on-line collection channels to provide total convenience for the clients of FirstBanC.

First, and like other banks, the collaboration has granted GTBank the opportunity to receive contributions from clients of FirstBanC via GTCollect across its network of 34 branches.

Second and the icing on the cake is the deployment of an online channel of collection by GTBank for FirstBanC. In this regard, the bank has listed FirstBanC on myghpay – an online payments and collections hub powered by GTBank – to enable clients of FirstBanC to make additional contributions into their existing FirstBanC mutual fund accounts.

Third, the collaboration also allows customers of FirstBanC to opt to fund their investments by signing onto an automated and transparent direct debit system set up by GTBank to enable them make fixed topups on specified dates per month.

The most significant and unique aspect of this collaboration is that clients who have put in a redemption request can; pick up their cash redemptions over the counter across all GTBank branches, get it credited to their bank accounts or Into their mobile money wallets.

This partnership which is a major collaboration between GTBank, a commercial bank and an investment firm in Ghana would provide a larger number of outlets and options to enable clients of FirstBanC to conveniently and easily purchase, top up or redeem their investments in any of FirstBanc’s mutual funds, namely, FirstFund and Heritage Fund through GTBank.

Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, Mr. Lekan Sanusi expressed his pleasure at the partnership with FirstBanC Financial Services due to the ease with which investments could now be made and redeemed. He stated, “We are very excited about this partnership with FirstBanC as it means many other people will now have a feel of the ease and convenience that GTBank can provide for their financial services needs.”

Managing Director of FirstBanC Financial Services, Mr. Amenyo Setordzie, commenting on the agreement between them and GTBank, stated that, “FirstBanC intends to use this platform and technology in general to generate wealth for both formal and informal sector workers by mobilizing untapped huge funds for investment in safe and high yielding financial instruments.”

FirstBanC Financial Services began operations in 2009 and has since then provided investment products and services in the area of Asset Management; Brokerage, Corporate Finance Advisory and Pension Fund Management services

First Fund, a flagship product of FirstbanC , was launched in 2010 and has been adjudged the Best Performing Money Market Mutual Fund in Ghana for five (5) consecutive years.

FirstBanC is currently the Best bank of the Year 2015 adjudged by the Ghana Investment Awards. The other awards include:
• Gold – Fund Manager of the Year (Portfolio Manager)
• Gold – Most Promising Young Investment Professional of the year
• Gold – Advertising Campaign of the year
• Silver – Money Market Fund of the year
• Bronze – Investment Advisor of the year (Fund Manager)

It is also ranked the number two Pension Fund Manager in Ghana.

Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, during the eleven (11) years of operating in the country, has established itself as an IT savvy Bank and a role model in the provision of convenient, swift and superior e-services in the banking industry.

In recognition of these innovations, Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, aside the numerous local awards, has also been adjudged the “Most Innovative Bank of the Year, West Africa” and “Best Online Platform, Ghana” by Banker Africa Awards in 2016.

The bank was adjudged “Best Digital Banking – Ghana 2017” in March this year by Capital Finance International (cfi), United Kingdom, publisher of the reputable cfi.co, a business, economics and finance magazine in acknowledgement of the bank’s capabilities in the area of electronic banking.
