President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Libreville, Gabon, to participate in the first-ever Libreville International Forum for Innovation and Development, a high-level gathering focused on advancing political stability, investment, and technological growth across Africa.
According to a statement issued on May 3, 2026, by presidential spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the forum brings together Heads of State, government officials, global investors, and technology experts to discuss strategies for sustainable development on the continent.

Held under the patronage of Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the forum is themed “Political Stability, Business Climate, and Artificial Intelligence: Catalysts for Growth.”
The event is designed to position Gabon as a regional hub for innovation and a strategic destination for international investment while promoting broader discussions on governance and economic transformation.

Organisers are also using the occasion to inaugurate the newly constructed Omar Bongo Ondimba Congress Centre, which will serve both as the forum venue and a future centre for international dialogue.
The forum is expected to conclude with the adoption of the “Libreville Declaration,” a strategic commitment by participating political leaders aimed at strengthening governance, transparency, and digital integration across Africa.

The statement noted that President Mahama remains committed to promoting partnerships that bridge public policy and private-sector growth to drive inclusive development.
His participation underscores Ghana’s continued interest in regional collaboration, innovation, and policies that support economic transformation through strategic international engagement.
