Twenty-six Togolese nationals arrested in Ghana over the weekend have been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court to the tune of GHC10, 000.00 each with one surety each.
According to the Judge, the sureties must be persons who are gainfully employed.
The Police arrested the 26 Togolese nationals last Saturday after they converged at the Kawukudi Park in Accra in preparation for a mass protest without notifying the Police Service.
The action of the Togolese nationals was a clear breach of Ghana’s Public Order Act (Act 491).
The Togolese nationals who were arraigned today were charged with three counts of Offensive Conduct, Conspiracy to Commit Crime and Failure to notify the Police.
All the 26 accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
The case has subsequently been adjourned to the 13th of November 2017 for hearing.
