U-17 AFCON: Black Starlets depart for Gabon today

Ghana’s national U-17 team, the Black Starlets will leave for Gabon today to prepare for the 2017 African Junior Championship.

The early departure will help the Black Starlets to acclimatize before the tournament starts on 14 May and ends on May 28.

Meanwhile, Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah is said to visit the national the team, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram ahead of their departure to Gabon.

Ghana are in Group A alongside hosts Gabon, Cameroon and Guinea and Paa Kwesi Fabin and his boys will be eyeing one of the four semi-final tickets which will secure qualification to the 2017 FIFA World Cup in India.

Goalkeepers: Michael Acquaye (WAFA), Danlad Ibrahim (Asante Kotoko), Kwame Azziz (Mandela Soccer Academy),
Defenders: Bismark Terry Owusu (Mandela Soccer Academy), Kingsley Owusu (Dreams FC), Najeeb Yakubu (New Town Youth), Nana Kwame Antwi (Accra Young Wise), Rashid Alhassan (Aduana Stars), Razak Yusuf (FC Tanga), Faisal Osman (Kumasi Young Vipers),Gideon Acquah (Accra United), John Otu (Dreams FC)

Midfielders: Isaac Antah (Accra Young Wise), Idriss Mohammed (Cheetah FC), Simon Asamoah Appiah (Wa All Stars), Gabriel Leveh (Tema Youth), Sulley Ibrahim (New Life FC), Emmanuel Toku (Cheetah FC), Edmund Arko Mensah (Wa All Stars), Samuel Monnie Andoh (Zein United).
