Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West Constituency, Hon. Rudolf Amoako-Gyampah, has underscored the importance of continuity in governance, urging the current administration to prioritise the completion of existing development projects regardless of political transitions.
Speaking on The Verdict with host Isaac Addae on Starr 103.5 FM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Amoako stressed the need for efficient and sustainable use of state resources.
“I believe that governance is continuity,” he said. “If a government comes and says the previous government’s project; I’m not going to continue it, I’m going to abandon it; it’s the state’s money, state resources that we put into it. So if we abandon it, are we doing good to the state?”
He cited his own efforts to complete projects initiated by his predecessor, noting ongoing collaboration with the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the local assembly.
“My predecessor started some projects and I’ve come; I need not abandon them. I’m continuing. I sat down with my DCE, with the assembly; we need to continue those projects so that the district can benefit.”
Hon. Amoako specifically referenced the Agenda 111 health infrastructure project, launched under the previous administration, calling for its continuation. He lamented the lack of hospital facilities in Asuogyaman and appealed for urgent action.
“I think that with this health Agenda 111 project that the previous government started, this government needs to continue and complete it for us,” he stated. “Because when you come to our constituency, we don’t have any bigger hospital. We have to travel, and even the nature of the roads…”
