Covid-19: Bethel ministries donate GHC100k to 10 health centres in Kumasi

Founder and Leader of Bethel Ministries Apostle Vida Osei Mensah has donated one Hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC100,000) to the Ashanti regional coordinating council to be shared among ten selected health facilities in Greater Kumasi.

This forms part of the Church’s corporate social responsibility towards the national fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah and MP for Manahyia North Constituency, Randy Collins Owusu Amankwah received the donation on behalf of government at the Buokrom Health Centre.

The MP in his stead also donated veronica buckets, dustbins and hand sanitizers to the facility to assist the hospital staff and clients to observe the coronavirus fight etiquette.

Addressing the Media after the donation exercise, Dr. Angelina Osei Mensah who donated the money on behalf of her Mother Prophetess Vida Osei Mensah commended Government and health workers especially the frontline team managing the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

She said “as a Church, we know Government alone cannot fight the deadly Coronavirus disease in the country. Even the developed countries like USA, Italy among others are all equally struggling to combat the COVID 19. So we are here to support government in our own small way by donating one hundred thousand Ghana Cedis to be shared among 10 health facilities in the Greater Kumasi to aid their work.”

Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah who was inspired at the Church’s gesture commend leadership of the Bethel Ministries and urged other corporate organizations to support government and health institution in the country in their own small way.

“On behalf of government I receive your donation which is physical cash,’’ he noted.

The Minister after receiving the Money disbursed same to the 10 selected hospital by which each facility receiving ten thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc. 10.000) each.

The hospitals which received the donations included the Buokrom Health Centre, Manhyia Government Hospital, Bosometwi health Centre, Nkawia district hospital among others.

MP for Manhyia North constituency Randy Collins Owusu Amankwa used the opportunity to commend the security agencies assigned to enforce government partial lockdown restrictive measures to avoid spread of COVID 19 in Greater Kumasi and Accra.

” I have seen the security forces effort on the street and I must commend them for what they are doing. I know what other recalcitrant drivers and other people are doing. I will just like to appeal to them not to over react to some of the provocations on the streets in line of their duties. Citizens must also note that this exercise is for their safety and therefore must obey simple orders. Our enemy at this critical moment is COVID 19 and not ourselves” he pleaded.

He assured government is committed to offer Ghanaians the needed security in this trying time to overcome the deadly pandemic.
