As an independent and objective member of our esteemed organization, it is my be pleasure to shed light on the remarkable achievements of the H.E Ibn Yameen led Administration of GRASAG, for a thankless group of people, as they say, are not worth dying for. We have witnessed an era of unparalleled progress, dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by graduate students at the University for Development Studies, Tamale. Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Yameen, the GRASAG Administration has worked tirelessly to address the challenges faced by graduate students here at UDS. Their commitment to finding lasting solutions and enhancing the postgraduate experience is commendable. Too obvious for us to avoid. Too glaring and significant to ignore. And too unprecedented to go unnoticed!

The following 4 angular, or let me say, rectangular arguments prove why the Yameen-led GRASAG is truly a time-tested action oriented team and truly commendable.

  1. A Revolutionized Academic Landscape: Since assuming office in July 2022, the Yameen led administration have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to enhancing the postgraduate experience of GRASAG members. They recognized the vital role that appropriate academic space and resources play in fostering academic excellence. Consequently, they embarked on a significant milestone, establishing the Research Commons and GRASAG Administrative Complex within the Graduate Secretariat. This state-of-the-art facility, meticulously furnished under the guidance and vision of Mr. Ibn Yameen Lukman and his Executives, is now ready for commissioning. Equipped with modern state-of-the-art facilities, including furniture, Mini conference table, Air-conditions, Tables for 3 research commons, internet access, fans and more, this complex will revolutionize the academic landscape for our current and future members. It will create a conducive environment for research and elevate the quality of our academic work.
  1. Unparalleled Dedication and Selflessness: We must take a moment to acknowledge the unwavering dedication and selflessness of the H.E iBN Yameen. He has gone above and beyond to transform the vision of this project into a reality. His tireless efforts in securing the necessary resources and championing our cause have been truly exceptional. This phenomenal young leader has emerged as one of the liveliest and most active advocates for the interests of GRASAG at the highest levels within the University for Development Studies. His commitment and engagement have positioned him as a dynamic advocate for our community. Through his networks, connections, friendships and relationships with people, coupled with his stellar personality and pervasive charisma, he commands a lot of media attention and even saturated the interests of some members of Ghana’s parliament to GRASAG UDS. Throughout his tenure, his passion for ensuring that our voices are heard and GRASAG UDS is visible, has been evident. The legacies he leaves behind, too numerous to mention here, will undoubtedly transcend the pages of history.

Empowering Current and Future Members: The achievements of the iBN Yameen-led Administration have set new benchmarks and standards in the history of GRASAG. His commitment to the collective welfare of Graduate students and the focus on enhancing the entire graduate student experience will undoubtedly shape the future of GRASAG. The Research Commons and Administrative office this administration have provided will benefit not only the current members but also future generations of graduate students. By providing them with a Research Commons and Administrative Complex, and putting GRASAG on the National Map of Graduate Students, Yameen has bestowed upon GRASAG a legacy that will endure, a legacy that will thrive, a legacy that will sprout, empowering us to excel academically and succeed in our scholarly pursuits.

  1. Unprecedented Advocacy and Impact: The Yameen-led Administration’s accomplishments go beyond physical infrastructure. Their dedication to advocating for the interests of GRASAG at the highest levels of the university is unparalleled. Hon. Yameen’s efforts have given GRASAG the limelight in a competitive media space and have established our organization as a symbol of excellence and a power to reckon on the National Stage of Student Bodies. Of course, it is natural that we might NOT understand and or appreciate the enormousity of the invaluably outstanding and sterling performance of Mr. Yameen and his team, but vindication ultimately lies in the womb of time. Time will surely vindicate their remarkable contributions, and they will be recognized as the epitome of excellence within the history of GRASAG.
In addition to the aforementioned achievements, permit me to highlight some other notable accomplishments of the Hon. iBN Yameen-led Administration:

  2. • Securing essential items: H.E Ibn Yameen secured crucial items such as fittings, desktop computers, Air conditions, fans, and more for both campuses of UDS. His persuasive and firm advocacy ensured that the necessary resources were obtained, enriching the academic experience for all graduate students.
    • Resolving result release delays: Through his relentless efforts, Yameen tackled the persistent issue of delayed result releases. This longstanding concern, where first-trimester results were not readily available by the end of the second trimester, has been effectively resolved. Using his social wealth good interpersonal skills, the ever-affable Yameen worked seemlessy with the Director of IT, in the person Dr. Mohammed Wahid to put an end to the perennial issue of delayed results in UDS. His dedication to resolving this matter has contributed to a smoother academic journey for all.
    • Exemption from fees increment: As a Governing Council member of UDS, the Ibn Yameen used his cogent arguments to secure an exemption for UDS from the harsh 15% fees increment imposed on students. Leveraging the pro-poor status of UDS, he ensured that our institution remained accessible and affordable to all students.
It is essential for us to celebrate and acknowledge the exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication of Yameen and his team. Their impact will extend far beyond the present moment, leaving a lasting legacy for GRASAG. Let us embrace and honor their achievements as we collectively work towards a future that upholds the values of academic excellence, camaraderie, and progress.
  1. As members of GRASAG, we are privileged to be part of this transformative journey. Let us take pride in being part of the YAMEEN ERA and having a hand in shifting the arc of GRASAG a bit towards the sweet nectar of history! An ERA where we have witnessed remarkable strides towards shaping the future of GRASAG. The Yameen-led Administration’s accomplishments will benefit not only us but also generations to come. With gratitude, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the His Excellency Ibn Yameen and his team for their exceptional leadership.
  2. Let us not be a thankless group of people. Let us come together to celebrate the unprecedented achievements of the Yameen led Administration. Their selflessness, passion, and dedication to GRASAG have propelled GRASAG to new heights. Time will surely vindicate their remarkable contributions and affirm their position as the epitome of excellence and one singular team that has RECALIBRATED, REPURPOSED AND REPOSITIONED GRASAG to its rightful state within the annals of the history of GRASAG.
  3. With immense pride and gratitude, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the man in the arena (the president) and his team for their exceptional leadership. Let us seize this opportunity to honor their achievements and collectively work towards a future that continues to uphold the values of academic excellence, camaraderie, and progress.
